Lucerne Station is located on the shores of Lake Lucerne, with a picturesque backdrop and a variety of shops, including extra long opening hours.
The shopping centre at Lucerne Station is open 365 days a year from early morning to late night, offering a variety of services and shops in a central location. There are pharmacies, takeaways and a variety of shops and services.
The station is centrally located, and the Old Town and Kapellbrucke are less than a 5-minute walk away.
Lake Lucerne cruises depart from the easy-to-find pier in front of the train station. When you exit the main entrance, you will see a bus stop and an arch on the other side of the arch.
To get to the cable car station in Kriens (the first stage of the Golden Round of Pilatus Peak), take the trolleybus line 1 from the front of the station (in the direction of Obernau Dorf). Then at Linde Pilatus, you can take bus number 15 directly to the front of the cable car station in Pilatus-Bahnen.
For trips to the Swiss Transport Museum, one option is to take the local (S-Bahn) train to the Lucerne Verkehrshaus stop on the S3 line (in the direction of Brunnen). However, this service runs every hour, so if you need to wait more than 45 minutes for the train, it is faster to take the line 6 (Buttenenhalde direction) or Line 8 (Wurzenbach direction) from the bus stop in front of the station.
