Gothenburg Central

Introduction

Gothenburg Central Station is a public railway station in Gothenburg, Sweden, and the second largest railway station in Sweden. More than 40,000 people use the station every day, and about 190 trains leave the trains around Sweden to leave or enter Gothenburg. The traffic code for Gothenburg Central Station is G, as it is the first station in Sweden to start with the G word.

The station was opened on October 4, 1858 and currently has 16 tracks.

The Central Station is part of the Gothenburg Transport Centre and the rest includes: Niels Ericsson Main Station, Queens Square and Centralhuset. The Niels Ericsson Main Station is a bus terminal at the central station with buses connecting cities outside Gothenburg. Queens Square is located right in front of Central Station, with a convenience store and a service centre for Västtrafik traffic. Centralhuset is a complex near Central Station with shops, restaurants, hotels and more.

Gothenburg Central Station is also the terminal, which makes it very easy to change trains, you only need to go from one platform to another. Therefore, there is relatively little text to read, because this is not a station that requires a lot of explanation, but a comfortable environment waiting for the train.
