Agios Athanasios (Άγιος Αθανάσιος,) is a town and a former municipality in the Thessaloniki regional unit, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Chalkidona, of which it is a municipal unit. In 2011 the population was 14,753. The municipal unit Agios Athanasios has an area of 155.34 km2, and the community Agios Athanasios has an area of 35.527 km2.
