Ilawa is town in Masuria, Poland.

The neo-barocque town hall of Iława was destroyed in World War II, but rebuilt with German money, and is now a landmark of German-Polish friendship Sadly, much of Iława was destroyed in World War II. However, some interesting attractions have survived.

Church of the Transfiguration Watermill

  • Church of the Transfiguration, Kościelna 1, +48 89 648 26 41. Built in 1317-1325 in Gothic style.
  • 4 Baroque sculptures on the main street - Jupiter, Junona, Meduza and Herkules (first half of 18th century) got from the palace in Kamieniec Suski
  • Eastern Orthodox Church.
  • Secessionist villas and palaces
  • Medieval fortified settlement (grodzisko) on Wielka Żuława island (the biggest inland island in Poland)
  • Town Hall, Niepodległości 13. From the 1910s.
  • Watermill. Unfortunately nowadays the building is hidden large commercial panels and threatened by destruction.
