Congleton is a town and civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire East and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. It lies on the banks of the River Dane, 21mi south of Manchester and to the west of the Macclesfield Canal. At the 2011 Census, the parish had a population of 26,482.
