Cunnamulla

Cunnamulla is a town of 1,500 people in south-western Queensland. It is the largest town and civic centre of the Paroo Shire. The Warrego River flows through the centre of the town.

  • Visitors Information Centre. There is a museum attached to the visitor's centre, and a display of aboriginal art. free.
  • Cunnamulla Fella. A statue showing the stereotypical bushman from the area. free.
  • Cunnamulla Weir. Picnic area and weir. No swimming is allowed close to the weir, but you can swim further upstream. free.
  • Robbers Tree. The last person executed in Queensland for robbery under arms was trapped up the tree by local people and their dogs. Tree is floodlit in the evening. free.
