Rheinfelden is a town divided between Switzerland and Germany with the Rhine flowing through the town and making up the border.Reformed church

The highlight of Rheinfelden is definitely the old town centre with the medieval city walls and the Roman era river fortifications.

  • Fricktaler Museum, Marktgasse 12, +41 61 831 14 50. Tu, Sa, Su 14:00-17:00. A local history museum showcasing a collection of exhibits around live and history in the Frick valley. Fr. 5.
  • Feldschlösschen Brewery, Theophil-Roniger-Strasse, +41 848 125 000. On appointment only, M-Sa. This "castle" is home to the brewery of one of the more popular Swiss beers. While the brand has since been bought up by Carlsberg, you can still visit the original brewery with several tours on offer. Fr. 15.
  • Stadtmuseum Rheinfelden, +49 7623 95-348. Sa, Su 12:00-17:00. This museum is in the German town, right next to the old Rhine bridge. Free.
