Latrobe

Latrobe is a township located on the North West Coast of Tasmania.

Latrobe is well known for its beautiful old buildings along the towns main street, Gilbert Street. There are many interesting places to visit including: Bells Parade, The Axemans Hall Of Fame, Reliquaire, and Anvers Chocolate Factory to name a few.

  • Latrobe Court House Museum, 113 - 115 Gilbert Street. Aug - May: Tue - Fri 1:00pm - 4:00pm. local history display operated by the National Trust. Gold coin donation.
  • Australian Axeman’s Hall of Fame, Bell's Parade. Daily: 9:00am - 5:00pm. Museum of the sport of wood chopping. The building is made from a variety of local woods. Craft market on Sundays.

  • Warrawee Forest Reserve. A good place to spot a platypus
