Tinicum Township is located in the southeastern part of Delaware County southwest of the city of Philadelphia. The township is made up of the communities of Essington and Lester. The Philadelphia International Airport is located in the eastern part of the township on the border with Philadelphia. Tinicum Township is home to hotels and off-site airport parking facilities.
