Whangamata is a beachside town on the Coromandel Peninsula in the North Island of New Zealand.
Walk around the reserve at the end of Moana Anu Anu Ave (Whangamata Harbour) and another just off Pohutukawa Cres (Otahu River Estuary).
Surf. Whangamata is one of the country's top surfing locations, with beach breaks and a bar break, all very good.
