Wootton Bridge

United_Kingdom

Wootton Bridge lies on the north east coast of the Isle of Wight, and is situated almost midway between the island’s historical capital of Newport and the Victorian gateway of Ryde.

The village itself lies at the head of the tidal Wootton Creek and over the last 100 years it has grown from a tiny hamlet of some 70 people to approaching 4000 people.

The area is surrounded with several areas of special scientific interest in which a wide variety of wild life can be seen.

In 1969 the village was home to the first major Isle of Wight pop concert when around 150,000 people came to see Bob Dylan, all one can say is, those who are still in the village and witnessed the event, will never forget.
