On the first floor, you'll find a wide selection of real ales, lagers, cider, wine and spirits in a comfortable atmosphere. In the basement, which holds something like up to 50 people, is a live music venue showcasing up-and-coming bands on most nights. Stop in for a pint and you might hear the next band to make it big. The cover charge is usually £4-5. As of July 2015, it was no longer possible to get tickets in advance except via seetickets.com, but events apparently sell out only rarely, so simply showing up is usually safe.
