When Bettys opened its doors for the first time in 1919 it was just as the founder, Frederick Belmont, had visualised – customers were greeted by a tempting array of delicious Yorkshire and Continental confections in the shop, and an elegant Café Tea Room served teas and meals in the traditional English style. Nearly 100 years later the stores welcome more than one million customers a year to Bettys. There are six Bettys Café Tea Rooms to explore in Harrogate, York, Northallerton and Ilkley, where you can enjoy handmade bread, cakes and chocolates from their own Craft Bakery, the finest teas and coffees and delicious freshly prepared Swiss-Yorkshire savoury specialities. For those unable to visit in person, they offer a mail order service at www.bettys.co.uk, where you can order a host of tempting treats to be delivered to your door.
