A large lagoon at an elevation of 3,850 m (12,500 ft), probably left over from glacial activity, is a good place for panoramic views of Cotopaxi and nearby Rumiñahui, as well as seagulls and occasional condors. You can also camp here (no facilities) and climb Rumiñahui in the morning.
