The administrative center of the state is meant to be not just a collection of buildings, but rather, to showcase Johor's culture in terms of modern architecture and interior design. The centrepiece is the Johor parliament building, the Bangunan Sultan Ismail, combining Moorish-Andalusian and Johor-Malay style. Visiting the interior of the building is possible by booking a tour via the website. Other attractions are the Chief Minister's office, the Bangunan Dato’ Jaafar Muhammad, inspired by the Alhambra palace in Granada with added Johor-Malay elements, and the Kota Iskandar Mosque. As with most of Iskandar Puteri's developments, Kota Iskandar is not yet complete.
