Galerie für zeitgenössische Kunst

Leipzig, Germany

The Museum of Contemporary Art, a foundation based in Leipzig, is an exhibition space for contemporary art and a museum for art post 1945. Temporary exhibitions by artists of the younger generation as well as important art historical positions of the last decades are showcased in both a Wilhelminian villa remodelled between 1995-8 by the Dresden architect Peter Kulka and a building opened in 2004 by as-if berlinwien. A visit to the Museum of Contemporary Art in Leipzig provides you with several alternatives: You can visit the exhibitions dealing with important, sometimes controversial questions of contemporary art, take part in one of the innovative mediation programmes, hold discussions with artists and curators, meet your friends in the café or garden or read the latest publications on contemporary art in the library.
