Ristorante Marina Grande

Amalfi, Italy

The restaurant “Marina Grande” began life as a seaside bar in 1918 and then moved to its current location on Spiaggia Grande in 1935. Towards the end of the fifties, it evolved into a restaurant overlooking the wonderful expanse of water enclosing the historical centre of Amalfi. Inside the restaurant, there are intimate areas in an atmosphere of extraordinary refinement. Humility, respect for the ingredients and the culture of nourishment. The result is traditional food based on our origins but truly innovative in our presentation. Our dishes are created not with overpowering flavors or spice but are savory and light, with rapid coking methods that retain the integrity of the fresh taste and nutritional value. Marina Grande is committed to the philosophy of Km 0. (locally grown, organic food). The fruit and vegetables are just picked from the garden, the fish bought from local fishermen, all which helps reduce the negative impact of transportation from the producer to the end consumer. Not only does this show respect for our enviromental impact, it also refines the seasonality, freshness, taste and uniqueness of our local products. There is a full bar with warm snacks and the restaurant can provide Mediterranean and seafood plates, completing Marina Grande’s service from its hospitable management, a dynamic, cozy, gentle, and authentic expression of the south of Italy.
