Hong Kong West Kowloon High Speed Rail Station

The total length of the Hong Kong section of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link is 25,000 km. It is estimated that the four-hour driving range from West Kowloon Station in Hong Kong can cover at least 60 million people and facilitate the traffic between Hong Kong and the Mainland. The Hong Kong section of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong high-speed rail link can directly reach 44 mainland cities from Hong Kong, significantly shortening the travel time between Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta region and other major cities in mainland China. For example, the travel time between Hong Kong and Beijing can be shortened to about 9 hours.

Entry and exit

台灣鐵路又有台鐵和高鐵之分。

歷史

1887年,台灣被清政府指定為中國的一個獨立省。清廷官員劉明傳被任命為台灣第一任總督。他迅速啟用了台灣第一條鐵路;就在同一年開始施工。

四年後的1891年10月,連接基隆和大稻埕(台北地區)的第一條鐵路線開通。它是一條28.6公里的鐵路,僅是100年後橫跨台灣的最終鐵路網的一小部分。全長100公里的鐵路於1893年完工,將基隆與新竹連接起來。

但是,台灣的清朝統治並沒有持續很長時間。在第一次中日戰爭結束後的1895年,對台灣的控制權移交給了日本帝國。當日本人到達島上時,他們對鐵路的劣質感到沮喪。日本政府隨後成立了台灣鐵道部,台灣鐵道部通過重建現有線路迅速開展工作,同時還制定了雄心勃勃的計劃,以建造一條連接大邱(今高雄)與基隆的鐵路。
