Main Street, Grassington Grassington is a small Wharfedale market town (though often referred to as a 'village') in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales in the English county of North Yorkshire (historically in the West Riding of Yorkshire). As the main residential and commercial centre in Upper Wharfedale, Grassington serves as one ideal base from which to explore the Dales. The cobbled main square and market place, together with the stone built houses of the town, make it a 'picture postcard' Dales destination.
