Rach Gia is the capital of the province of Kien Giang, in the Mekong delta region of Vietnam. For most tourists it is mainly of interest as a jumping-off point for trips to Phu Quoc island.

There are lots off street stalls, small restaurants and many cafés all over the town.
- Phu Quoc - is the obvious next stop, if that's not where you are coming from.
- Can Tho - Phuong Trang bus company (phone 0.77 3.691.691) connects Rach Gia to Can Tho (~every hour between 03:00 and 18:00, 80,000 Dong, ~3h)
- Saigon - (Phuong Trang bus company; 9 a day between 07:30 and 12:00, 120,000 Dong). Several bus companies make the journey with the option of a seated or sleeper bus.
- Ha Tien - Mai Linh Express provides regular buses to Ha Tien for 65,000 Dong (ph: 077 392 92 92).
