Ramsey is a small market town in Cambridgeshire.
Ramsey is an historic fenland town with an abbey founded in 969. It's a quiet place where you can experience rural England but has enough life and facilities to enable you to stay there. It makes a good base to explore the surrounding area.
Ramsey is not a major tourist destination so would suit those wanting to get off the beaten track.

Cycling.
Each August there is a major 1940s weekend at nearby (20 minutes' walk) Upwood airbase.
The town has two supermarkets and some old-fashioned shops.
There are a few restaurants and takeaways in the town so you won't go hungry.
There are a few pubs.
If you don't have your own transport then you'll need to take a bus.
