The Ministry of Railways of China has named all CRH EMU vehicles imported from foreign technology and jointly designed and produced as “Harmony”(He Xie Hao).
The Harmony EMU is usually used to refer to the CRH EMU trains that will be operated after the sixth major speed adjustment map of China Railway from April 18, 2007. CRH (China Railways High-speed) Chinese means "China High Speed Railway", which is the brand name established by China Railway Corporation for China's high-speed railway system. There are currently 8 series, which are CRH1, CRH2, CRH3, CRH5, CRH6, CJ1, CJ2, CJ3, CJ5, CJ6 and CRH380 series.
The "Harmony" EMU was once the most technologically advanced EMU train in mainland China. The train runs at speeds of more than 200 kilometers and can reach speeds of up to 350 kilometers. The front of the train is streamlined and can significantly reduce the resistance of the air. In addition to the CRH2 and CRH380A series, the built-in door is used, and the rest are internal door type, which can reduce the noise when opening and closing the door.
The internal facilities also pay more attention to the humanized design, such as the disabled toilets for the disabled and the baby care desk for the mother. The faucets in the bathroom are inductive and come with hot and cold water supply. Passengers in the bathroom can use the emergency call button at any time to inform the train attendant to assist in an emergency. Passengers who are unwell can use the folding bed in the multi-purpose room for rest. The window glass is made of special materials that will not scratch the body even if it is broken. And the doors are specially designed to make it easy for people with disabilities to board (the CRH1 has a wide door, so the door does not need to be specially designed).
