ITX-Saemaul was introduced to replace all old New Village trains by 2018. On May 12, 2014, it began on the main Korean railways such as the Gyeongbu Line, Hunan Line, and Jeolla Line. The train has a maximum speed of 150 kilometers per hour. The train was named after the announcement, and the old name "New Village" produced by the New Village Movement led by President Park Chung-hee was elected. The stations that the new village passes through are as follows:

Gyeongbu Line Seoul – Busan Tokai Line Seoul – Shin-hae Yuntai (Gyeongbu Line Direct) Qingquan Line Seoul – Jinju (Gyeongbu Line Direct) Hunan Line Longshan – Mokpo (Jingke Line Direct) Hunan Line Longshan – Gwangju (Gyeongbu Line, Gwangju Line Direct) Jeolla Line Longshan – Yeosu EXPO (Gyeongbu Line, Hunan Line Direct) Central Line Qingliangli – Rongzhou

The ITX-Xin Cun has only standard seats and no first class seats.
