Jungfraujoch Landscape Train
Top of Europe: Visit the Jungfrau and set a crown of gems for your trip to Switzerland. For more than 100 years, the Jungfrau Railway has been running to the highest railway station in Europe (34,545 meters above sea level). This train station is located right in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Jungfrau-Aletsch Alps". The rack train departs from Kleine Scheidegg all year round and follows a steep route through a tunnel to the Jungfrau. The starting point of the tunnel is at the Eiger Glacier Station, with a total length of 7 km, built between 1896 and 1912. There is a stop in the tunnel where visitors can enjoy the magnificent glacier world from the slopes of the Eiger North. Visitors can enjoy the alpine world of ice and snow at the top of the mountain. All of these beautiful views can be enjoyed on the Sphinx viewing platform, the “plateau” viewing platform on the Aletsch Glacier or the “Ice Palace”.
From Interlaken East Station, via Grindelwald-Little Scheidegg or Lauterbrunnen-Schodge, then take the cog railway train from Little Scheidege to Jungfrau to run all year round. The length of the mountain tunnel is more than 7 kilometers. There are ice palaces, ice gates and Sphinx viewing platforms. The mountain train departs from Interlaken East Station, via Grindelwald-Little Scheidegg or via Lauterbrunnen-Schuder, and then takes the cog railway train from Scheidegg to Jungfrau.
