Saarbruecken Hbf
Saarbrücken Hbf, also known as Eurobahnhof Saarbrucken, is the main railway station in Saarbrücken, Germany, and the largest railway station in Saarland, Germany, bordering France. About 10 million passengers use the station every year. The station is operated by DB Station&Service as a Category 2 station and is serviced by regional and long-distance trains.
Saarbrücken Hbf leads to the city and the pedestrian zone (Reichsstrasse / Bahnhofstrasse) via a large reception hall. There are two rows of shops selling daily fares and popular items. Shops include supermarkets, fast food restaurants, newsstands and stationery stores, tobacco shops, flower shops, etc., data service points, DB/Ameropa Travel Center and terminals with data ticketing machines.
In front of the city entrance is the large station front yard, mostly car-free, with many bicycle parking stations and Saarbahn four-track tram station, with 290 servings per day to France / Kleinblittersdorf / Südstadt / Innenstadt and Riegelsberg / Nordstadt. Hundreds of towns and regional buses also stop here.
All 16 stations of the station are accessible via a fully refurbished pedestrian tunnel and Osttunnel. This tower is about 100 meters long and gently climbs from the municipal entrance hall to the New North entrance of the Rodenhof area and is decorated in pure blue and white tones.
All platforms are accessible, except for platforms 1-3, which can be accessed by elevators, escalators and stairs; platforms 1-3 can be reached by stairs and elevators.
The platform (except for the tram line in front of the city entrance) is located approximately 20 meters above the pedestrian tunnel connecting the entrances of the two stations. The track number is 1-16, of which only 10 are for passenger trains; these are 1-3, 5-6, 8th, 11-12, 14 and 16. Other tracks are used for other railway operations or no longer exist. Six of the ten tracks used for passenger service are used to pass Saarbrücken trains, four bay platforms (2, 6, 8, 11), and train services begin or end.
