Mainz Central

Mainz Hbf ("Mainz Main Station", formerly Centralbahnhof Mainz) is the railway station of Mainz, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is used by about 60,000 passengers and tourists every day, making it the busiest station in the Rhineland-Palatinate region. The train station is a test area for the CCTV program using automatic face recognition.

The station is the end of the S8 line: Wiesbaden Hbf-Mainz Hbf-Rüsselsheim-Frankfurt Hbf-Hanau Hbf; Rhine - the main S-Bahn, which is the beginning of the Mainbahn to Frankfurt Hbf. It is serviced by 440 daily local and regional trains (StadtExpress, RE and RB) and 78 long-distance trains (IC, EC and ICE).

The station is the intersection of the Mainz tram network and an important bus hub for cities and regions (RNN, ORN and MVG).

Liège Guillemins

Introduction

Liege Gyman Station is located in Liege, Belgium and is currently available for 9 months. As an important node of the European high-speed rail network, the Hercules high-speed train (Thalys) and the German-made Intercity Express (ICE) stop here. This station is also an important hub for local traffic operated by the Belgian National Railway. About 500 trains pass through the station every day.

It is arguably the most amazing 21st century railway station in Europe. If you are interested in building and take the train past Liège-Guillemins, please get off and take the next train! It is also a relatively easy to use train station, although in a windy winter, it is best to have a passenger passage under the platform until a few minutes before the train departs.

Although the building is beautiful, its conservation is not ideal.

Platform

The new station house uses steel, glass and white concrete as building materials. Its magnificent dome is 200 meters long and 35 meters above the ground. The station was originally scheduled to be completed in April 2006, but was actually postponed until September 19, 2009, two weeks after the completion of the entire building, officially opened.

There are a total of nine tracks at the station: the 1st and 2nd track lines are used for the ICE international line, and the 3rd and 4th lines are used for trains to Brussels. There are five 8-meter-wide island platforms, three of which are 450m long for the re-connected Hercules high-speed train; the other two are 300m long.

The Belgian National Railways regards the construction of the new train train in Liège as part of the modernization of the Belgian railway, optimising its position in the European high-speed rail network connecting London, Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam and Cologne and Frankfurt. After 2009, the operation time of Cologne and Liège was shortened to less than one hour.

Mainz ( MYNTS, German: [maɪnts] is the capital and largest city of Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. The city is located on the Rhine river at its confluence with the Main river, opposite Wiesbaden on the border with Hesse. Mainz is an independent city with a population of 217,118 (2018) and forms part of the Frankfurt Rhine-Main Metropolitan Region.Mainz was founded as Mogontiacum by the Romans in the 1st Century BC during Classical antiquity, serving as a military fortress on the northernmost frontier of the Roman Empire and as the provincial capital of Germania Superior. Mainz became an important city in the 8th Century AD as part of the Holy Roman Empire, becoming the capital of the Electorate of Mainz and seat of the Archbishop-Elector of Mainz, the Primate of Germany. Mainz is famous as the home of Johannes Gutenberg, the inventor of the movable-type printing press, who in the early 1450s manufactured his first books in the city, including the Gutenberg Bible. Historically, before the 20th century, the city was known in English as Mentz and in French as Mayence. Mainz was heavily damaged during World War II, with more than 30 air raids destroying about 80 percent of the city's center, including most of the historic buildings. Today, Mainz is a transport hub and a center of wine production.

Liège ( lee-EZH, lee-AYZH, French: [ljɛʒ] , locally [li.eʃ]; Walloon: Lidje [liːtʃ]; Dutch: Luik [lœyk] ; German: Lüttich [ˈlʏtɪç]) is a major Walloon city and municipality and the capital of the Belgian province of Liège. The city is situated in the valley of the Meuse, in the east of Belgium, not far from borders with the Netherlands (Maastricht is about 33 km (20.5 mi) to the north) and with Germany (Aachen is about 53 km (32.9 mi) north-east). At Liège, the Meuse meets the River Ourthe. The city is part of the sillon industriel, the former industrial backbone of Wallonia. It still is the principal economic and cultural centre of the region. The Liège municipality (i.e. the city proper) includes the former communes of Angleur, Bressoux, Chênée, Glain, Grivegnée, Jupille-sur-Meuse, Rocourt, and Wandre. In November 2012, Liège had 198,280 inhabitants. The metropolitan area, including the outer commuter zone, covers an area of 1,879 km2 (725 sq mi) and had a total population of 749,110 on 1 January 2008. This includes a total of 52 municipalities, among others, Herstal and Seraing. Liège ranks as the third most populous urban area in Belgium, after Brussels and Antwerp, and the fourth municipality after Antwerp, Ghent and Charleroi.
